Day 95: Horseshoe Bay, Magnetic Island

Walk to Balding Bay.

This is a short walk from Horseshoe Bay - about 1km. Easy access from the western end of the beach, it is a moderate climb up a well-maintained path. Balding Bay, itself, is a lovely little beach with a mixture of walkers and nudists.

Day 94: Horseshoe Bay, Magnetic Island

Weekly food shop and another parcel at the post office.

A familiar run now, we got the bus to the post office to pick up the new toilet seat, had lunch at a local cafe and then walked back to the IGA for food shopping.

The toilet seat is a hit because it, get this, closes slowly. No, me neither, but Kim seems to like it.

Finished with the filling. The boat came with a few unsightly holes and I have added a few more since we've had her. Polyester resin putty is the fix. It's a 2-part mix and white as snow. It tends to shrink a little as it sets so you often need a couple of goes at the holes. They are looking pretty good now.

Swim at Geoffrey Bay, lunch at Gilligans Island cafe at Arcadia. Martin and Monica from WOW came over to see the cats.

Day 92: Horseshoe Bay, Magnetic Island

Went snorkeling at Alma Bay - nice place for a swim but low-vis - and then the Arcadia Hotel for lunch. Used the pub pool, too.

Met up with some WWSA + DH (dear husband or dick head depending on the time of day) for steak night at the Marlin Bar.

Lazy day - sitting around and swimming.

Day 90: Horseshoe Bay, Magnetic Island

Shopping day - parts and feet.

Took the ferry into Townsville and got a day pass for the bus. First stop was Repco where I had globes for the engine panels put aside. Back on the bus to the Stockland shopping centre.and I dropped Kim off at the nail bar for some strange female voodoo thing and beat a hasty retreat. Back on the bus to Domain, a light industrial area and shop outlet. Picked up fittings to remount the alternator - this time, I hope, permanently.

There's always a Bunnings.

Then the fun stuff. Went to Tackle World and got a reel of braid line for the overhead reel. I'm hoping for fewer line breaks and a reduction in the loss of tackle. It would be nice to land some fish, too. I've been having some luck with barra spoons so I got a few of those.

Making use of the excellent Townsville buses. Plenty of them, inexpensive, and helpful drivers.

Back at Stockland, I found Kim with different coloured toenails and we had lunch. Back on the bus to the ferry, and we got back to the beach in time for a swim. A busy, and productive, day.
