Day 124: Long Island

Provisioning for the first leg of the run south. This is easy at Canonvale. There is a ramp dock next to the VMR. It has a 30 min limit but this is widely ignored. Occasionally, someone enforces this but, seemingly, only when something is going on. There is a small shopping centre with a good-size Coles, bottle shop, servo, and some smaller shops about 10 min walk away. Handily, Coles allow their trolleys to be taken back to the ramp which is a huge help with the carting about.

Back on the boat, I brought up the dinghy and we left for Long Island. We've been here before. 5 years ago we went into the active resort for lunch and a swim. 2 years ago, I went for a walk around the derelict resort and was told to bugger off by the caretaker. This time, it was even more broke down and we stayed on the beach so the caretakers just glared at us.

As this marks the 14th anniversary of when we met, a selfie was in order

Us, 14 years down the road.

Long Island, Whitsundays
