Day 1: Moving aboard / Mouse

Back on the boat after a couple of weeks, and we've have a visitor. A foam mattress has been chewed, box of tissues shredded, and there's bits of biscuits on the floor. OK, we might have a mouse but, hey, we also have cats. Unfortunately, useless cats. While we cleaned up, they went exploring. They might have found the cat food storage space, but they came up empty in the mouse department. We did, however, find the nest. Vaguely reminiscent of the mother nest in Aliens, Kim was the first to come across it. As the resident bolted, she informed the marina at regulation 95db, which I though was a bit rich as it's me wearing the loose shorts with no underpants. If anyone was at risk of having their pink parts chewed off, it was me. The rodent is, as far as I know, still roaming the depths of the boat. I'd like to think it has a limited life with these two killers at large but that hope may be in vain. The moggies might be good with insects and lizards but they have yet to score first blood with a mammal. It will either forever mock them like a Jerry to their Toms, or they will eventually run it down and present the body in a passive-aggressive "you really are crap hunters" show of strength to the humans. The wait begins.
