Fast but lumpy run to the Burnett River. Planned on a 9 hour crossing of Hervey Bay but it took us 6. Winds were behind and peaked out at 22 knots. We had about 1/3 of the jib out and occasionally hit 9 knots. Very fast but the seas were short and choppy making it uncomfortable.

Bouncy enough for the safety gear. Life-jacket with a personal EPIRB. |
Got into the river and passed Anum Cara anchored outside the marina. Gary and Penny came over for tea and it was great to see them. They are off to Lady Musgrave in the wee small hours. We hope to meet up with them as we get further north.

Passing HMAS Torbruk with a local hovercraft zooming by. This at the sugar terminal. |

Familiar anchorage for us just upstream of the sugar terminal. We'll be here for a couple of days before heading into Bundaberg. |
